Scale House, Rylstone

We had a wonderful time as a family at Scale House. We attended as a large group family of 20z John & Hayley were brilliant nothing was to much. The house itself is amazing, caters to the whole family with fantastic grounds and facilities we really enjoyed the garden and the hot tub. We will 100 be returning.

We had the most incredible stay at Scale House in Skipton with our family of 21, and it was nothing short of perfect. The house itself is absolutely unreal beautifully kept, full of character, and with more than enough space for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The facilities are second to none, from the stunning interiors to the wellequipped kitchen and the wonderful communal spaces where we could all gather together. The grounds are equally amazing, with plenty of space for the children to run around and for the adults to unwind and soak up the peaceful surroundings. Every single member of our family, from the youngest to the oldest, had a fantastic time here. Scale House gave us the perfect setting for making lifelong memories, and we cant recommend it highly enough. If youre looking for a truly special place for a large family gathering or celebration, this is it. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Scale House is a fantastic holiday house. We've stayed in many holiday homes 12 to 19 persons over many years. This is undoubtedly the best for facilities, comfort, quality, service, and location. The owners go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable and smooth. They were outstanding. We've never been made to feel more welcomed in a holiday accommodation. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We knew we always had help at the end of a phone and a readiness to help. Mind you, the service from Sykes Cottages was unhelpful, impersonal, and frustrating. The booking was only achieved by circumnavigating the company and approaching the owners directly.

We had an amazing weekend at Scale House! The weather was fantastic, which meant we got to fully enjoy the stunning views and really appreciate how peaceful and relaxing the setting is. The hot tub was a highlight perfect for unwinding in the evenings. We loved having a BBQ with the whole family gathered around. Inside, the property is incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean, and really well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the living areas were comfortable and welcoming. The bedrooms were a great size, and we especially loved that three of them had ensuites it made things so convenient for everyone. We also took a lovely boat ride in the heart of Skipton, which wed definitely recommend to others staying in the area. And if you're thinking of a takeaway, HK Chinese was a great find delicious food! Overall, a perfect stay 10 out of 10. A big thank you to John and Hayley for their fantastic communication from start to finish, which made everything smooth and stressfree. Wed definitely come back!

The perfect accommodation for my mums surprise 60th celebrations. I cant thank John enough for being so helpful and accommodating for us all. The house is beautiful and has everything you could ever need, and more! Everyone had to the best time, the only complaint is that we didnt book for longer as we would have all loved to stay and experience more of Scale House.

The house and grounds were amazing and ideal for our large family group. The children loved playing in the large lounges, the gardens and the games room. The adults appreciated the gym equipment and hot tub. There was a path from the top of the garden out onto the hill, so for the keen walkers we could do some lovely walks without using the car. The hosts were helpful when we had any problems. It was wonderful, and ideally situated for Skipton and the surrounding area.

Myself and 14 other 50ish year old chaps thoroughly enjoyed staying at Scale House. The place is better than the pictures and over a long weekend we barely had the time to properly enjoy all it has to offer. It has so much character and a great ambience all of it's own. John is a terrific host. he was there to greet us and provide a tour and popped back to make sure everything was going well and to drop off extra tea towels upon request. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but very much wanted to do so here. I just hope this doesn't backfire and I find the place is unavailable the next time we want to stay!

From receiving a lovely message from the owners to being greeted at the property right through to the end of our stay John and Haley couldnt do enough to ensure our stay at Scale house was perfect! The house and grounds are breathtaking, its luxurious whilst still homely, has everything you need and more during your stay and added extras you wouldnt even think off Myself and 21 guests stayed for a spiritual retreat, the space was perfect, so much so we are returning next year to do it all again! A very special historic property with lots of modern features. Great hosts who were very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend.

The property was much more than we could ever expect. The whole.place was spotless and smelt amazing. The rooms were well.equipped, spacious and comfortable. We had the master room which was just wow! The grounds were lovely, well maintained and lots of space to explore. The hot tub and sauna were both is a great features. We were a party of 18 and this was the perfect sized place to celebrate a special birthday. The hosts were so lovely, greeting us at arrival and being on hand for any queries during our stay. We would love to come back. Thanks again.

Wonderful property. John and Haley were very attentive hosts. The property had everything we needed. The house, the ground and the surrounding countryside are all stunningly beautiful. Bedrooms and living rooms all very comfortable. Can't wait to come back again soon!

The owner was very welcoming when showing us round. A rather splendid welcome hamper was waiting for us. A really sumptuous property which accommodated our large family early. The grounds were perfect for the little children to explore in and with the hot tub a nice retreat for the grown ups in the evening. Would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone for special occasions. This was a surprise family holiday for my husband's 70th Birthday. From the moment we entered the property, we were blown away by the magnificence of it all...true luxury. We wanted for nothing. The hot tub, gym and sauna was enjoyed by all. We even used the massage table. The grounds are beautiful. All the children enjoyed lots of outdoor games and a treasure hunt. We baked in the kitchen. Had a murder mystery night and much more. The emphasis was on fun family time for all 17 of us. Skipton castle and Bolton Abbey were great places to visit. John and Haley are amazing. Always on hand with anything we needed. I can highly recommend Scale House and will definitely return in the near future. Thank you, Linda and Bernard.

Scale House is a beautiful holiday location. It has all the equipment you need to cook for and entertain your family or group. We were very impressed and would definitely go back. The owners, Haley and John, were on hand when we needed them and provided really helpful information before and during our stay.

Surprise getaway for my husbands 30th, all our friends arrived before us & were greeted by the owners who were incredibly welcoming and showed them around the property, as well as telling them all about the history of the house. My husband was truly surprised, we had a fabulous weekend, the perfect place for a party! An unbelievable house with so many spectacular features & in a beautiful location with plenty to explore! The owners were extremely helpful prior and during our stay and provided a huge amount of helpful information including places to visit popular walking trails! A wonderful weekend to remember & we would love to go back again for the next big celebration!

Wow! Scale House is an absolutely amazing property. 1010. We stayed as a large multi generational family to celebrate my dads 80th birthday and the house did not disappoint. Its beautifully and stylishly decorated, with so much space inside and out. The large hot tub was a hit with everyone! The host John, met us on arrival to welcome us, show us round and explain how things work. He was available throughout our stay too to answer any questions via a quick text. In our experience the friendliest hosts were ever experienced the welcome basket was thoughtful and enjoyed by all. The property is spotlessly clean and so well stocked with more than enough glasses and plates etc so that we were never short of anything. If I had to be picky, the only downside was only 1 dishwasher, which is a shame for a property this size. We visited in winter, but we would certainly visit again in the summer as the outdoor space and facilities looked just as good.

We have a lovely stay and enjoyed every moment there. We were a bunch of 20 ladies who went to have a fab weekend together. The hosts were absolutely awesome, the property was kept in an immaculate condition all set for us to relax and enjoy fully. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to have a relaxed and a weekend away from home.

We stayed at the Scale House property for the second time, and it was just as beautiful as we remembered. With our big family, this place was perfect for us to spend quality time together. Scale house is amazing! From start to finish we had the best time! The hosts were so lovely. We had an in depth tour on arrival and were shown how everything worked ect. The hosts were contactable throughout our stay for if we needed them, the welcome basket was a lovely touch. I cant even put into word how amazing the house and outside spaces are! The photos are fantastic but still do not do it justice! This was the perfect setting for a get together with friends and we cant wait to book again. Although the house is huge it was still very warm and cosy and is clearly well loved and well kept.

We were also impressed by the host, who met us at the property, explained all of the details and showed us around, and even remembered all of the grandchildrens names! This is our second visit to Scale house. As a group we have been going away together for nearly 20 years, and this is the first time we have revisited a previous property, that really says it all. Scale House is a fantastic property, set in beautiful grounds. The owners John and Haley are so accommodating and friendly, they really make you feel welcom, without being overbearing. All in all 10 out of 10!

We have had the best time at Scale House! From the lovely warm welcome from John and Haley to the comfortable and fantastic house where we spent a wonderful long weekend celebrating Dads 90th birthday with four generations of family

We booked Scale House for two of my best friends Sten do. From the minute we booked John and Haley couldn't have been more helpful, answering all our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. When we arrived John was there to give us a tour and help us get settled in. He was so welcoming and friendly. Scale house is amazing. We hired a private chef one night, the dining room was perfect and all 22 of us were sat round enjoying a lovely meal together. The cinema room is a lovely addition we were able to make a video for the grooms and that was the perfect room to show it. The grounds are so lovely, we held a 'sports day' on the Saturday and the garden was perfect for this, we had so much fun. Hot tub is lovely and spacious and was turned on for our arrival. Couldn't have asked for a better venue for such a special weekend. It was perfect and we are all thinking of an excuse to return soon!

We booked Scale House for my daughter's hen party with 22 wellbehaved mothers, girlfriends, aunties & cousins. The house was absolutely perfect. It is really stunning and very special. There was plenty for all ages to do, eg hot tub, table tennis, sauna, garden walks with sweeping lawns, and plenty of room for us all to get together for fun and games. We hired a private chef for the evening we arrived and that worked really well. The owners, John & Haley, were so helpful and everything, and more, had been thought of. All the rooms have the wow factor, and everywhere is just so photogenic. Some of the second floor rooms are maybe more suited to children but we really didn't mind as we only slept very well! up there. All the bedrooms on the first floor are lovely, especially the four poster which of course the bride to be had to have. We all said we would be looking for an excuse to return.

We had an absolutely amazing stay in a truly beautiful property. It was clear so much thought had gone in to the design and stocking of the property. We all had a wonderful time. The only thing Id recommend would be a floor plan to help people plan where people were going to stay when at the property. The hosts and Jacob were so friendly and on hand for anything we need. My hen weekend was magical and such a memorable stay! We hope to come back for sure! Thank you!

There were 17 of us who stayed for the week. 9 Adults and 8 children. Absolutely everything was spectacular. The photos online don't do this property justice, you must take a look at Instagram. The huge bedrooms and the spacious bathrooms were superb and the living space downstairs was more than enough for all of us, you never felt like you were cramped as we had in previous properties. With the two lounges, snug and study, and that's just downstairs. The children loved the cinema room and the vast grounds were thorough explored by all. Including a game or two of cricket on the lawn. John recommended a walk going out the back of the property into the woods, which all the Dad's did the one day, which was enjoyed and what made it even better was that they then had the hot tub to come back to after extending the walk to almost 20 miles! The kitchen was well stocked with all the relevant pots and pans which enabled us to do a Sunday Roast for 21 people, we had some friends stop for lunch, and the ovens and aga worked overtime. Haley had also recommended a few butchers which was helpful There were also enough glasses for multiple glasses of wine throughout the evening and the coffee machines were used by all, every day, multiple times a day. The two washing machines and tumble dryer were a god send with 8 children as well as the drying racks in the laundry room. There were board games to choose from in the study as well as a mixture of novels for both young and old. Haley set up a whatsapp group with myself and John, which we used during the week to ask any questions. This was a great help and no question was too big or small. To top off the amazing level of service, I left our spare set of car keys by the front door, which John and Haley posted straight back to me without any fuss whatsoever. If there was one thing I would change, that would be to install a second dishwasher, with 17 people, it was on constantly. Thank you for letting us stay in your property, it was definitely a week to remember.

Wonderful home, everything you could wish to have as part of your stay. Haley & John are such lovely hosts and really make you feel welcome and are on hand to answer any questions. Mike was also really helpful and friendly showing us round and letting us know how things worked. I stayed with friends and family as part of birthday celebrations and the experience just made my birthday even more special. You probably need a car if you are wanting to get to Skipton, Grassington or any nearby villages but honestly you could easily enjoy walks in the local area or just enjoy being in the property for such a large house it was incredibly cosy and warm. Plenty of choice in films to watch Bluray, games darts and table tennis, the sauna, gym and hot tub. Hopefully be back again in the future

What a superb find. Our family ages 1 70yrs couldn't have enjoyed our Christmas more. The photos on the website do not do justice to what we found. Everything had been meticulously thought out and was a constant delight. We will definitely be back.
