We were a party of 22 ladies staying at Scale House. The communication with the owners was great and the owner met us at the property to go through everything and even gave us a tour round giving us history on the house. We were left a beautiful hamper of goodies and the house was well equipped the kitchen especially. Lovely grounds outside a hot tub, steam room, table tennis and gym and plenty of outdoor seating. The inside was lovely each room furnished to very high standards penalty of seating with two large lounges couple of snugs and a cinema room. Large dining table and bedrooms all nicely furnished too and lovely bathrooms throughout. Would highly recommend this property thanks again we enjoyed our stay.

Scale house was a wonderful place for a warm and welcoming place to celebrate my birthday with special friends and family. The owners were friendly and helpful and the house was big enough for quiet spaces as well as communal fun. The grounds attract lots of butterflies and the hot tub refreshed some of us every morning for some, in the evening, with a glowing fire pit to sit around in the dark. An unforgettable experience.

The house itself is absolutely unreal beautifully kept, full of character, and with more than enough space for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The facilities are second to none, from the stunning interiors to the wellequipped kitchen and the wonderful communal spaces where we could all gather together. The grounds are equally amazing, with plenty of space for the children to run around and for the adults to unwind and soak up the peaceful surroundings. Every single member of our family, from the youngest to the oldest, had a fantastic time here. Scale House gave us the perfect setting for making lifelong memories, and we cant recommend it highly enough. Scale House is a fantastic holiday house. We've stayed in many holiday homes 12 to 19 persons over many years. This is undoubtedly the best for facilities, comfort, quality, service, and location. The owners go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable and smooth. They were outstanding. We've never been made to feel more welcomed in a holiday accommodation. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We knew we always had help at the end of a phone and a readiness to help. Mind you, the service from Sykes Cottages was unhelpful, impersonal, and frustrating. The booking was only achieved by circumnavigating the company and approaching the owners directly.

We had an amazing weekend at Scale House! The weather was fantastic, which meant we got to fully enjoy the stunning views and really appreciate how peaceful and relaxing the setting is. The hot tub was a highlight perfect for unwinding in the evenings. We loved having a BBQ with the whole family gathered around. Inside, the property is incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean, and really well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the living areas were comfortable and welcoming. The bedrooms were a great size, and we especially loved that three of them had ensuites it made things so convenient for everyone. We also took a lovely boat ride in the heart of Skipton, which wed definitely recommend to others staying in the area. And if you're thinking of a takeaway, HK Chinese was a great find delicious food! Overall, a perfect stay 10 out of 10. The perfect accommodation for my mums surprise 60th celebrations. I cant thank John enough for being so helpful and accommodating for us all. The house is beautiful and has everything you could ever need, and more! Everyone had to the best time, the only complaint is that we didnt book for longer as we would have all loved to stay and experience more of Scale House.

The house and grounds were amazing and ideal for our large family group. The children loved playing in the large lounges, the gardens and the games room. The adults appreciated the gym equipment and hot tub. There was a path from the top of the garden out onto the hill, so for the keen walkers we could do some lovely walks without using the car. The hosts were helpful when we had any problems. It was wonderful, and ideally situated for Skipton and the surrounding area.

Myself and 14 other 50ish year old chaps thoroughly enjoyed staying at Scale House. The place is better than the pictures and over a long weekend we barely had the time to properly enjoy all it has to offer. It has so much character and a great ambience all of it's own. John is a terrific host. he was there to greet us and provide a tour and popped back to make sure everything was going well and to drop off extra tea towels upon request. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but very much wanted to do so here. I just hope this doesn't backfire and I find the place is unavailable the next time we want to stay!

This was a surprise family holiday for my husband's 70th Birthday. From the moment we entered the property, we were blown away by the magnificence of it all...true luxury. We wanted for nothing. The hot tub, gym and sauna was enjoyed by all. We even used the massage table. The grounds are beautiful. All the children enjoyed lots of outdoor games and a treasure hunt. We baked in the kitchen. Had a murder mystery night and much more. The emphasis was on fun family time for all 17 of us. Skipton castle and Bolton Abbey were great places to visit. John and Haley are amazing. Wow! Scale House is an absolutely amazing property. 1010. We stayed as a large multi generational family to celebrate my dads 80th birthday and the house did not disappoint. Its beautifully and stylishly decorated, with so much space inside and out. The large hot tub was a hit with everyone! The host John, met us on arrival to welcome us, show us round and explain how things work. He was available throughout our stay too to answer any questions via a quick text. In our experience the friendliest hosts were ever experienced the welcome basket was thoughtful and enjoyed by all. The property is spotlessly clean and so well stocked with more than enough glasses and plates etc so that we were never short of anything. If I had to be picky, the only downside was only 1 dishwasher, which is a shame for a property this size. We visited in winter, but we would certainly visit again in the summer as the outdoor space and facilities looked just as good.

We booked Scale House for two of my best friends Sten do. From the minute we booked John and Haley couldn't have been more helpful, answering all our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. When we arrived John was there to give us a tour and help us get settled in. He was so welcoming and friendly. Scale house is amazing. We hired a private chef one night, the dining room was perfect and all 22 of us were sat round enjoying a lovely meal together. The cinema room is a lovely addition we were able to make a video for the grooms and that was the perfect room to show it. The grounds are so lovely, we held a 'sports day' on the Saturday and the garden was perfect for this, we had so much fun. Hot tub is lovely and spacious and was turned on for our arrival. Couldn't have asked for a better venue for such a special weekend. It was perfect and we are all thinking of an excuse to return soon!

We booked Scale House for my daughter's hen party with 22 wellbehaved mothers, girlfriends, aunties & cousins. The house was absolutely perfect. It is really stunning and very special. There was plenty for all ages to do, eg hot tub, table tennis, sauna, garden walks with sweeping lawns, and plenty of room for us all to get together for fun and games. We hired a private chef for the evening we arrived and that worked really well. The owners, John & Haley, were so helpful and everything, and more, had been thought of. All the rooms have the wow factor, and everywhere is just so photogenic. Some of the second floor rooms are maybe more suited to children but we really didn't mind as we only slept very well! up there. All the bedrooms on the first floor are lovely, especially the four poster which of course the bride to be had to have. We all said we would be looking for an excuse to return.
